Located at our locally based offices in Byron Bay, your Enova Energy Company is led by Tony Pfeiffer. Tony is supported by a team of people with diverse energy experience, each of whom share a passion to change the way we harness use energy in the future. Many of our team started out as Enova shareholders.

Along with Enova’s board, this dedicated team is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that Australia’s First community-owned energy retailer successfully delivers on its promise to Enova’s shareholders.

Management and Team

Tony Pfeiffer, Managing Director, Enova Energy

Tony Pfeiffer Managing Director

Tony brings more than 34 years experience in the utilities sector to Enova, having worked as senior executive in business strategy, economic management, operational management and business performance. One of his most recent roles, before leaving Ergon Energy Queensland was to lead the Ergon Energy retail business function through the merger of Energex and Ergon Energy and prepare the retail business to become an integral part of the merged Energy Queensland.

In South Australia Tony project managed the development of ETSA’s Power’s NEMMCO (market operator) interfaces and led ETSA’s readiness for the commencement of the National Electricity Market. Tony was appointed Managing Director of Enova on July 1 2017.

Kylie Redden
Chief Financial Officer
Kylie and her husband and young family live in Bangalow. They moved from Melbourne 8 years ago, and in a complete lifestyle change purchased Mary Ryan’s bookshop in Byron Bay which they owned and operated for nearly 4 years. Following the sale of the bookshop, Kyle went back to a career in finance, as CFO of The Australia Skydive Group.  As well as this career diversity in recent years Kylie has vast experience in the electricity sector too, having worked for more than a decade in finance roles for Powercor and CitiPower.
Melissa Mac CourtMelissa Mac Court Marketing Manager and Co-Founder Originally from Ireland, a Byron Bay local of 7 +years, Melissa brings experience in marketing and business development that spans across many sectors including IT Software, sustainable materials, events, convention and exhibition industry, public event venues, destinations and tourism, hotels, and sports products. She held many senior executive marketing and business development roles in large organisations, including corporations, government and not-for-profit as well as her own local marketing services business. Melissa has sourced a range of local suppliers and contractors to support Enova including brand development, website, writers, film + photography, printers and digital media.



Virpi Barrett
Trading Manager
Virpi is an experienced manager with more than 10 years’ experience working in management and coordination roles with energy consultancy and trading companies in Finland, Germany and Australia. Virpi’s role with Enova is to manage the retailing interface with the wholesale market, and ensure that Enova meets the compliance requirements in this industry.
Sandi Middleton
Manager –Enova Community Ltd
Sandi believes passionately in human potential, and works with individuals, organisations and communities to create a better future. In her current role with Enova Energy, she is helping to make renewable energy accessible to all.

With expertise in leadership development, strategic foresight, program design and delivery, personal coaching and organisational capacity building, she is a dynamic and skilled operator.

Sandi threads her rich knowledge of leadership, mindfulness, nature reconnection and sustainability through all that she does.

Thom Evans
Fulfillment & Billing
Originally from London, Thom has happily resided in Goonengerry for the past 15 years with his wife and two children. Thom has been running his own business as a freelance bookkeeper and admin guru. He, and his wife and children are very committed to protecting the environment and encouraging the uptake of renewable energy sources so Thom is excited to be making a difference as part of the Enova team.    
Scott Barrett
Technical Manager
Scott has experience working as an engineer in energy technologies such as; sun farm design, concentrated solar thermal energy, oil and gas and high efficiency fuel cells. Scott is very passionate about getting more renewable energy generation onto our grid and helping people take control of their power through the smart use of energy. Scott is the man we call upon to answer unusual and complex questions because if he doesn’t know the answer, he is always happy to research until he finds one. When Scott is not working he likes keeping fit and has an interest in sports psychology.
Jimi Gatland
Energy Consultant & Team Leader
Jimi joined Enova as a Shareholder last year and when the time was right, he joined the team as our first Energy Consultant. Jimi has 10 years of experience in customer service / sales roles, beginning as a travel agent at the Air New Zealand global contact centre in Auckland and more recently as a hotel broker for Jones Lang LaSelle in Sydney and Brisbane. Jimi now lives in Lennox head with his partner Helene where they also run a holistic family day care centre.
Kim Donnelly
Energy Consultant
You might get the chance to speak to Kim on the phone. Kim’s a Mullumbimby local. She and her family moved from Sydney 14 years ago. Kim worked as a training officer for NIB Health Funds at its Sydney Training Facility for 10 years before becoming a Finance Advisor with Summerland Credit Union, where she worked in the Ocean Shores branch for more than 13 years. Kim is excited to be sharing Enova’s vision about a sustainable future.
Ernst Dams  Energy Consultant Ernst explains that he came to Australia as a Dutch backpacker in 1988, packed with a tropical agriculture engineer’s degree, an adventurous spirit and a whole lot of enthusiasm for love and  life. He moved to the Byron Shire in 1993 and now has two daughters. His career took him from real estate sales, to Gestalt Therapy counselling and group facilitation, and in more recent years to solar power consultancy and sales. He’s found his way onto the team at Enova Energy and he is also a shareholder. He says he feels very privileged to be a part of our unique and promising local community-owned enterprise.
Nigel Dornan
Energy Consultant
Originally from Sydney via Belfast, Nigel lives in Mullumbimby with his family and friends. Nigel has worked as a professional photographer, wilderness guide, advertising sales person and researcher. He has a Masters in Environmental Management and a penchant for white slacks and red cricket balls. But when he’s not on the cricket pitch, Nigel is working on the Enova team, guiding shareholders and supporters with their energy choices.
Ian Smith
IT Consultant
We coaxed Ian Smith from retirement (aka golfing) in Ocean Shores, to lead the implementation of our IT and Telecommunications systems and infrastructure. Ian has had more than 40 years extensive IT and Telecommunications experience working with numerous companies including well-known brands NRMA and American Express.  Ian was also a director of the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG) during the deregulation phase of the Telecommunications Industry in Australia and remained in this position for many years, until his retirement.

Matthew Baxter
Energy Consultant
Matthew brings to Enova a broad background through experience in customer-focused roles across multinationals and startup companies in Australia and Latin America, in various industries including finance, tourism, and health economics. Recently Matthew has made the switch to the energy industry, driven by his passion for renewable energy. Matthew loves giving Enova customers a great customer experience. Just don’t get him started on electric vehicles unless you’ve got a few hours to spare.
